Supporting Haiti's Children Through Education

We Need Your Help

Two sad childrenAlthough many sources state that the average yearly income in Haiti is $1500, the truth is that the wealth in Haiti is held by about 5% of the population.  It is estimated that as many as 90% of Haitians live on $100 per year.

It only costs about $250 for a Haitian child to attend school for one year with the necessary uniform and textbooks.  However, when the vast majority of the population is struggling to eat, it is impossible to make education a priority.  Haitian Roots believes that to affect any change on the political, economic, and social ills that plague Haiti, we must help educate the youth.  Through our educational sponsorship program we are able to send some of these children to their local schools but we need your help.  Please donate or become a sponsor today!
